About The Subjects I Teach
In my current role and throughout my 18 years of experience at the high school level, I have been deeply engaged in teaching English Language. This subject is at the core of effective communication, encompassing the study of grammar, vocabulary, syntax, and language mechanics. My approach involves fostering a comprehensive understanding of linguistic structures and rules, while simultaneously encouraging creativity and critical thinking through various language activities. From honing writing skills to cultivating effective verbal communication, the English Language curriculum under my guidance aims to equip students with the tools they need to navigate the complexities of language in both academic and real-world contexts.
English Language
Language Arts
I teach Language Arts at grades 4 to 9. Within the realm of Language Arts, I have dedicated myself to providing students with a holistic and integrated approach to language and literature. This encompasses reading comprehension, writing proficiency, listening skills, and speaking fluency. By integrating these components, I aim to nurture well-rounded individuals who can not only analyze and appreciate literature but also express themselves eloquently through various forms of communication. My curriculum emphasizes the interconnectedness of language skills, fostering a love for literature and an appreciation for the power of effective communication.

English Literature:
In my extensive teaching career, I have also passionately delved into the realm of English Literature from grade 7 up to grade 13. This subject goes beyond the technical aspects of language, delving into the exploration of literary works spanning different genres, periods, and cultures. I am committed to instilling in my students a deep appreciation for literature, and honing their analytical and interpretative skills. From Shakespearean plays to contemporary novels, I strive to create an engaging and intellectually stimulating environment that encourages critical thinking and fosters a lifelong love for literature.
Communication Studies
I teach Communication Studies at the pre-university/ grade 12 level. My experience extends to the field of Communication Studies, where the focus is on developing advanced communication skills applicable in various professional and personal contexts. This subject encompasses verbal and non-verbal communication, public speaking, interpersonal skills, and media literacy. I emphasize the practical application of communication theories, preparing students for effective communication in the digital age. Through interactive activities, real-world simulations, and in-depth discussions, my goal is to empower students with the ability to navigate diverse communication situations with confidence and competence.
