Take a Keen Look at My Grade 9 Action Plan
In the 2022-2023 academic year, I developed the Grade 9 P.A.S.S. Programme.
What is the Grade 9 P.A.S.S. Programme?
The Grade 9 P.A.S.S. Programme is an approach which keeps me, as Grade 9 Supervisor on track to ensure that all my students, form teachers and parents of grade 9 are
1.Present for Grade 9 Activities,
2.Active in their duties,
3.Supported to accomplish their goals and
4.Successful in achieving these goals.
Take a look at my action plan which shows how the Grade 9 P.A.S.S. Programme was constructed.
The P.A.S.S. for Grade 9 Students
At the beginning of the school year, I begin with my hypotheses pertaining to the issues my students of Grade 9 may face.
As a proactive practitioner, I strive to implement programmes to address these issues. For my students, my main concerns pertain to their attendance, academic performance and social growth.

The Grade 9 P.A.S.S. Programme for My Form Teachers
Our Form Teachers should be seen as professionals who have been given the privilege of passing on the tenets of the Hidden Curriculum to our students. They are the first and last persons with whom our students come into contact at school. Form teachers should be supported and encouraged.
Z.Y.Banton, 2023
The Grade 9 P.A.S.S. Programme for my form teachers can be credited for why Team Grade 9 is an efficient, professional, cooperative and involved teams. I am proud to lead Team Grade 9.
Z.Y.Banton, 2023
It is my belief that we must do what we can to make our form teachers feel appreciated. and valued.
The Grade 9 P.A.S.S. Programme for Parents
Our parents are our second largest stakeholder group. As such, we are duty bound to ensure that they can perform their roles in assisting our students to self-actualize as pupils who belong to our school.

In order to ensure that Grade 9 Parents are Present, Active, Supported and Successful, I keep lines of communication open.
I am in all parent and student WhatsAPP groups so that I can communicate and address matters as they are brought to my attention.
This has been an effective way to ensure that my parents of Grade 9 can fulfill their duties and commitment to our young men.
One of My Proudest Moments as Grade 9 Supervisor
Aristotle, the ancient Greek Philosopher, is credited to have originated the terminologies: Pathos, Logos and Ethos. These are the modes of persuasion. In order to persuade your audience, it is advisable to utilize pathos (appeal to emotions), logos (appeal to logics) and ethos (appeal to ethics).
As a Grade Supervisor, not only do I try to utilize this ancient Greek philosophy in leading my stakeholders, I have also sought to incorporate an additional mode of persuasion which I call, "Theos"- appeal to one's belief in god.
Some of the initiatives in this area are:
1. Grade 9 Prayer Breakfast
2. Grade 9 Hymnal
3. Devotion by The Anchovy House of Prayer
Evangelist Corrine Binns and her team from The ANCHOVY HOUSE of PRAYER gave us the great honour of conducting Grade 9 Devotion
My Story As A Grade Supervisor & Senior Memeber of Staff At Cornwall College
As a Grade Supervisor, it is my duty to set an example for my form teachers who are, themselves, grade supervisors in the making. I am a transformational leader who provides the supervisory support for my team.
I also do my best to maintain order and high standards on the school block that I oversee. I believe that the area of school I manage is a reflection of me. So, I am keen on the cleanliness, beauty and order of Grade 9.
As a senior member of staff, I try to embody the Code of Ethics for Teachers (click here) as published by the Jamaica Teachers' Association.
